Driveways
Driveways are a crucial part when it comes to deciding what changes you want to make with your property. As much as it’s important for a driveway to be structurally strong and neat, it’s also important that it has a stunning appearance as it’s literally the face of a property. Driveways are supposed to be built so they can carry lots of weight but what’s more important is how long they can carry that weight without sinking in or starting to lose shape and structure. The most important factor when it comes to pave a strong and high quality driveway is the foundation and the “bed” where the blocks are going to be laid. Without a good foundation, the driveway will start sinking in and losing shape in no time.
The process of doing a driveway is quite simple but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t require much skill. The first thing we do is get rid of whatever existing pavement is in the area of where the driveway is going to be laid. We then dig the whole area up to one foot depending on how much it needs to be dug. After that, we will lay Type 1 Base to create a levelled out bed for the sand and the blocks to go in. After the Type 1 Base is laid and whacked with a Wacker Plate, we lay a membrane sheet to prevent the weed from growing through the pavement. After the membrane is laid, we will lay sharp sand to create the final base for the blocks to go in. Levelling is one of the most crucial parts of a paving job which is why we make sure that only the most experienced workers take this job on. After the sand is laid, it will be levelled out perfectly and made ready for the blocks to go in. After all the blocks are laid, we will fill all the gaps between the blocks with Dry Paving Sand. To make sure that the driveway is well neat and kept together, we will whack it down again with the wacker plate and we will add more paving sand to make sure the gaps are properly filled. After that point, we will clean the place up and the job is finished.

Similar to a driveway, we start the process by getting rid of what was previously on the area designed for the job to take place. Afterwards, we will add Type 1 Base if necessary to level out the area and make it ready for the next steps. After that, cement will go down to create the strong base for the slabs to go on. As the cement goes down and the slabs are laid, the precise levelling will take place to make sure that the patio is up to standards. You can choose to add edging to the patio if you wish, which is mainly done with paving blocks. After the patio is laid, the gaps between the slabs will be filled with patio jointing and the job is finished. Of course we will make sure to leave the area nice and clean so you won’t have to worry about anything when the job is done.
